Our Story
Founded in 2019 by Ann Cutbill Lenane, aka "Annie Gets it Done", the "Wise and Wonderful Women" now has more than 2,000 New York City–based women. Our mission is to empower and educate women over 50 through our free monthly speaker series held in an exquisite event space in Hudson Yards. We just added a YouTube channel featuring the stories of "Real Women," and we have a private Facebook page.
Our Events
Bringing accomplished, funny, interesting, and simply fabulous women together feeds Ann's soul. These inspiring, mid-week dinners foster new friendships as we share a heart-healthy meal and listen to speakers on a variety of different topics.
Connecting
A unique aspect of our events is the "bio" that we ask each attendee to write and send in with their reservation. We ask that they share fun, personal, and professional snippets about their lives, as well as what area of the city they live in. The bios are compiled and sent out the night before the dinner, and upon arrival, we hand out name tags. This allows us to all feel more comfortable walking into the room and facilitates keeping in touch afterward. Adding your neighborhood even helps you share a cab or a subway home with a new friend!
Ann Cutbill Lenane
For the past 43 years, I have been one of Manhattan's top real estate brokers, fondly known as "Annie Gets it Done". The Wise and Wonderful Women grew organically out of my passion for bringing people together and a crazy ad that I placed in the NYC taxi cabs in 2019. In the video, I said I was "56 and fabulous" and looking for a great man to remarry, who loved his mother but still didn't live with her. Google it; you will get a kick out of it! Even with 15,000,000 people seeing it worldwide, I haven't found a new husband (yet), but the outpouring of support and encouragement from women across the country was extraordinary, and the idea for the Wise and Wonderful Women was born!
After surviving a near-fatal heart attack, I am a staunch advocate for the American Heart Association. I am honored to not only be on the Executive Committee for their "Go Red Campaign for Women," but I will be speaking around the city to raise awareness as part of the national 2026 "Survivor Series."
I am the proud single mom of two awesome young women (Jackie and Riley), who are the loves of my life.
